Fused Mullite

Features:

  • 1. Low thermal expansion, expand evenly
  • 2. Needle-like crystals are well crystallized
  • 3. Good chemical stability and high flexural strength
  • 4. Relatively light, with high hardness and oxidation resistance.
  • 5. Excellent deformation stability
  • 6. Excellent thermal shock and corrosion resistance
  • 7. Low Porosity, low residual carbon
  • 8. Resistant to high-temperature slag and possesses a high load softening point

Fused Mullite is produced by melting a mix of high-purity Bayer Alumina and pure Quartz in a tilting arc furnace at temperatures around 2000 degrees Celsius. Controlled cooling of the molten mass guarantees a high level of mullitization, characterized by well-defined columnar crystals.

Fused Mullite is one of the main raw materials used by the refractory industry for applications requiring thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance.

The YUFA Group also produces micro sodium mullite with a sodium oxide content of less than 0.1%, and the primary crystal phase is mullite. Due to the reduced sodium oxide content of micro-sodium mullite, its refractoriness, volume density, flexural strength, compressive strength, true density, hardness, etc. are significantly improved compared to Common mullite.

Micro-sodium mullite is primarily used in mullite kiln furniture, precision casting, high-quality refractory materials, and other applications. Our company can produce granules and fine powder in various specifications according to customer requirements.

Applications

1. Low creep hot blast furnace bricks, Sillimanite Bricks, Hot metal torpedo tank lining bricks

2.High temperature industrial kiln bricks, Glass kiln lining bricks, shed board.

3.For investment casting, for producing refractory materials for steel industry, for producing high-purity mullite glass melting furnace blocks, for kiln furniture and other applications.

4. Refractory for glass, steel industry and petrochemical industry

5. High-purity mullite blocks, used in hot blast stoves within the steel industry.

6. Ceramic kilns petrochemical industry

7. Glass lining brick kiln

8. Glass contact refractories

9. Sagger and shell building materials

10. Cast housing construction and high-grade ceramic

11. Spark plug bodies
